It worked great for me for depression, but made me an absolute idiot and gave me cotton mouth that never went away. Worth a try though. I take a lot of other crap too that could have made things worse for me.

I take Desipramine, 100 mgs.

The dry mouth is a slight problem but not as bad as it was on Nortriptyline (75 mgs). I just chew gum and use breath mints to help with it. The constipation, I have to admit, is annoying as hell. I'm trying to eat a lot of fiber.

As far as cognitive problems, I haven't noticed any at all. I should also mention that I am a full-time pre-med student so it's not as though it would go unnoticed!

Yeah, I had an identical experience on it with regard to side effects. There was some mild-to-moderate dry mouth and constipation, both which got somewhat better with time but never went away. When I first started it I felt as if it made me slightly spacey, but that went away completely.

I ultimately dropped the drug because it caused severe impotence for me. It felt great to have the constipation and dry mouth go away.
