My sinuses are totally messed up right now, and it is driving me crazy (mostly because my ears get blocked and I end up with dizziness and vertigo - YUK). Tylenol Sinus or Sudafed have usually helped in the past. Anyway, I take my nort in split doses - one at about 6:30 (dinner) and the other at about 10:30 (about 1 hour or so before bed). I want to take Tylenol Sinus nighttime formula tonight. I checked the PDR and couldn't see that it is contraindicated or could cause a reaction. I just wanted to check with others here to see if anyone else has had any problems taking sinus meds with a TCA.
Thanks (and sorry to be such a neurotic, worry-wart).
Tamara

Oh tam,
I'msorry you feel so crummy. I have no clue if you can mix that stuff but I will pray you recover quickly. And don't worry, if anybody wins the neurotic worry wart award around me... it will definitely be MOI! LOL
*my husband has actually threatened to ground me from here because reading here sometimes makes me more paranoid about meds* LOL

hi tamara,
I have perpetually clogged sinuses, and when I started a new job last year I used Afrin (sp.?) every day for a few weeks. I was taking 75 mg nortriptyline and 80 mg Strattera at the time. I don't know about Tylenol Sinus, but I would guess that there would be no contraindication. Afrin is the nasal spray, by the way. For some reason, I'd rather spray something up my nose than take another pill :-)

Spriggy, I'm the same way. When cymbalta came out I had just found this Board. I followed other posters and when it failed for them it did for me too. I don't know if it was the drug or the suggestion. Fondly, Phillipa

Thanks Spriggy. You are so kind. I don't feel too bad, just lopsided LOL like I am walking on a permanent slant (one ear is blocked more than the other) with my head on a slow and steady spin. Hey, maybe we can share the "wart" award. I am such a freak when it comes to meds. I have had some bad reactions to things like cough medicine, so now I can be paranoid. It takes me about a week to get up the nerve to try even half of the dose that has been prescribed.
Hope you are holding up ok and hanging in there. My thoughts are with you. Take good care of you.

Thanks zeugma. I can relate to the perpetually clogged sinuses :-(. I tried some Otravin (sp?) spray last night, but it didn't help much, so I will take my chances tonight with the Tylenol. I am just being a silly, chicken LOL. I mean, the worst that could happen is that I will be overly sedated, and that can't be a bad thing at bedtime.
Anyway, I hope you are doing well. Take good care of yourself.

hi there again tamara.
I wanted to spray Afrin up my nose this morning, since the drip is really severe, but I'm afraid that since I'm taking Provigil now instead of Strattera, that something weird might happen.maybe I'll check a drug interaction database.
take care
