just started klonopin (.5mg DID) and for the first time in what seems like 25 years i'm anxiety free! holy sh!t! great stuff! i was actually able to go into a restaurant by myself and eat. wowzers. doc is titrating me on celexa as, in his opinion, it's a better long term med for anxiety maintenance.
im just wondering, why can't i just stay on this dose of klonopin indefinitely since it works so well?
does tolerance develop? other side effects (i've noticed none in the week ive been on it). thanks!

I don't know what DID means, but if you take it daily tolerance can develope. Some people find it can work for years with no tolerance, though. Personally, I felt that I was building a tolerance. If you just take it like once a week tolerance probably won't develope, though.

I never developed a tolerance just didn't like it. I never developed a tolerance for valium either and I've taken it for years. I don't know why you can't continue to take it. Fondly, Phillipa

I've been on 1 mg Klonopin for over eight years now. I've never had to increase my dose, and it still works as well as ever.
The one time I tried to go off it, I did have some interesting temporal lobe experiences for about a month. But I went off Depakote and Luvox at the same time. It's hard to pin down a culprit there.
