Hmm, 37.5mg apparently not in XR...

Hi all,

I wonder, I take 262.5mg effexor XR, which means that I take three 75mg caps + half a 75mg XR cap split open, every morning. Now I know that effexor comes in 37.5mg tabs, the regular kind. If I were to take one of those with my XR instead of splitting open a cap, would this be ok? Or would my bloodplasma levels drop after 5 hours due to effexor's relatively short half-life? And would I consequently not reap the benefits?
I wonder... Anyone?

You'd put a little upwards bump in your blood concentration curve. It might be enough for your to feel the temporary increase in dose, and the fall again. It's not a good idea. If you're wondering about busting that cap open, no big deal, except for the hassle. I take it that is the reason for your question, the nuisance factor?

I took 37.5mg XR in the past. It even comes in the Effexor XR starter kit.

It's only available in some countries :-(
37.5 XR caps are not available in the UK. We don't have the starter pack either.

Nah, I'm in Holland and we don't get the 37.5 mg XR kind either. Thanks all though...
