Hi,
I know that this sound like a silly question. But is it all right to drink regular coffee while taking AD's
I was told by some in the medical feild that the caffenine increases the jitteriness and anxeity produced by AD's. I drink about two cups a day. Is this ok. Or am I playing with fire.
Thanks,
BRC

For example Luvox and Caffeine are metabolised by the same enzyme, therefore caffeine remains in the system for far longer on Luvox.
I also don't know if it would be a good idea to combine a very stimulating AD like Wellbutrin with Caffeine
Appart from Luvox I don't know of any AD that will interact very seriously with a reasonable amount of Caffeine.
Others will doubtless have more to say!

I swallow my AD in the morning with coffee and havenīt had any problems. I donīt think that there are any interactions at all. Iīve read only about one AD or AP or something similar that must not be combined with Tea or Coca Cola. Unfortunately I canīt remember which one it was. Itīll say in the patient information. So donīt worry.

Caffiene shares some of the properties of an antidepressant in animal models. Regular caffiene intake also provides a statistical anti-suicide effect.
I'm sure caffiene and SSRI's have been used together for ages. I don't think it is a big deal, as long as it doesn't exasperate your personal underlying condition.
It may help relieve some of the side effects, cognative, sexual, drowsiness.

I always thought caffeine would aggravate anxiety and depression. I didn't know luvox interracts with caffeine too! Fondly, Phillipa

I've never found that caffiene agrevates the depression. Sometimes it does the anxiety although.
