Zyprexa -loss of libido

Posted by Guy on February 27, 2005, at 18:45:11

I was on Zyprexa for a couple of months but haven't taken any for about a month. I have unfortunately lost all interest in sex...still get erections, but they are more physiological that sexual. I just have no need to reach orgasm and have not had sex with my wife for more than a month. I simly have no interest. What the h*** has this Zyprexa done to my nervous system??? Has anyone else had this effect? How long does it last?

I'm not a male so can't stand from that perspective but think this is a typical reaction.

It may take your body another few weeks to get back in rhythm before all things are "normal" again.

Hopefully your wife is understanding and knows it's nothing you can control.

I'd maybe go on google and do a serach on it- maybe try RXlist.com or remedyfind.com to see if other's have had similar reactions.

Sorry you are going through this! I am sure it's frustrating.

You mean, you haven't been on Zyprexa for the past month, and noticed a decline in your sex drive? Well, Zyprexa itself helped me greatly with a.d. sexual side effects, and brought back my sex drive. You might want to consider *going back on* the Zyprexa. I found Zyprexa really helped my sex drive when on the SSRI's. It is likely possible because of it's serotonin antagonist properties at certain sites.

Best wishes,
Jay
