I've used Neurontin a few times as a sleeping aid--since the side effect of drowsiness gives me a solid night's sleep. I did this only for transient insomnia. Yet I think I've discovered that Neurontin can induce some pretty mind-jarring dreams.
In one instance, I had one of the best sex dreams I ever had--the kind that feels real and you don't want to wake up from. But last week, I had two of the worst nightmares I ever had, back to back after taking a mere 100 mg. Neurontin. Weighing one against the other, I don't think I'm going to try this anymore. This is not my idea of a good night's sleep--dreaming that I was busted and going to jail for life. Am curious about anyone else's experience with Neurontin and vivid dreams.

I didn't taper off slowly enough (nrntn maded me forget words). I had some hardcore nightmares and started biting peoples heads off at the least provocation. It's the only thing that's been effective for my mood swings. lowered dose and stopped smoking weed; thinking a little more clearly.
Does anyone know about anorgasmia and neurontin at less than 1200mg/day? Or is that just the celexa talking? Or maybe I'm just not that into her...;)

I took Neurontin briefly a while back. It helped me fall into what felt like a nice natural sleep. As many of the gabaergic anti-epilepsy meds. are know to do. The other thing it did was give me tremendous spine tingling orgasms. The kind I hadn't had since my teens. (And haven't had since.) I told my girlfiend at the time that she was responsible. Believe me it was the Neurontin. Why in God's name I stopped this med. I don't know. Like I said it was quite a few years ago when I was still medication averse. I'm thinking of giving it another shot. The Klonopin I'm taking isn't cutting it. It's not giving me a deep sleep and it's making me even less motivated. Which is the last thing I need. The male orgasm involves a lot of complex bio-chemistry and it's a good indicator of over-all health. Apparently, my over-all health stinks. Damn SSRI's!

Or maybe I'm just not that into her...;)If your current "anti-convulsant" helps soften your mood peaks and lows, but causes you to ache or show symptoms of fibromialgia, neurontin also acts as a pretty potent chronic pain solution (however, it does not relieve pain like an opiate or anti-inflamatory-- steroidal or not).
I have felt pain in my back for 20 of my 33 years. Sitting at a computer, one can easily come aware of those little areas of tension or mis-alignment.
The first line of action, is to let that pain motivate you to adjust your posture. I advocate awareness, not pain killers and muscle relaxers. It was probably spaced out slouching, anyway, that helped much of it along. Pain is the last line messenger to your conscious mind that you want to receive. It's much better to have the habit of checking one's own posture regularly.
In any case, the messages my back is sending lately are not blaring, and do not wake me up before I'm ready to get up. Awareness and managed pain make starting new habits more easy. Make spinal awareness one of yours...
