I'm taking the following meds:
Cymbalta, 60 mgs
Wellbutrin XL, 150 mgs
Provigil, 100 mgsI'm currently experiencing the following adverse effects:
Trouble finding words
Weight gain
Akathesia (not as bad as on Lamictal/Zoloft, but bad enough)
Worsening depression (damn)
Memory troubles (mild to moderate)
Mild to moderate insomniaIt's all pretty much just irritating, but it's also feeding into my psychological difficulties right now -- like feeling as though there's no point in trying to find a med that will help without turning on me, that Dr CattleProd will give up on me because I'm difficult, etc.
The worst problems, really are the word finding and the restless legs (they hurt until I start fidgeting, then they feel OK again as long as they're moving), and I really do not want that to be the Wellbutrin or Provigil, but assume they're probably the suspects.
So, would anyone like to hazard a guess as to which med or meds might be causing which problem?
Thanks!

Hi,
Sure I'll play. It was Colonel Mustard in the Billiard Room with the Cymbalta. Good Luck. JN

Cymbalta did cause additional apathy for me. Fondly, Phillipa

i have incredible restless legs on cymbalta 60mg so i'm going to say that's the culprit for the leg issue anyway. the only other thing i'm on is lamictal.
p.s. ambien slows your legs down enough to sleep.ana

So, from what I gleaned from the Internet (cymbalta.com and healthsquare.com) re: side effects for these meds, and my personal experience, I'd suspect:
Trouble finding words? Provigil (or maybe just your insomnia? I had that bad for 15 months and my cognitive skills plummeted.)
Weight gain? Cymbalta (my experience, but may be atypical?)
Akathesia? Provigil or Wellbutrin
Worsening depression? PROVIGIL or Wellbutrin
Memory troubles? Same as "Trouble finding words"
Mild to moderate insomnia? TAKE YOUR PICK (any of the three, or all three together?)
Frankly, I'd drop the Provigil (for the not-weight-related problems). Give it a couple of weeks. Then, if the weight gain continues, maybe try decreasing the Cymbalta and/or increasing the Wellbutrin? I don't know... Good luck.

FWIW: I had achey, sorta restless muscles when I first started Cymbalta, but that isn't a problem anymore.

Weight gain and word find - Cymbalta
Insomnia - Provigil
Wellbutrin made my legs restless ... but then my Wellbutrin experience ended in a psychotic episode.Maxime

I vote it is the Cymbalta primarily. I did not like this med, I felt spacy and anxeious at the same time, I felt worse on it than off it. agitation could be Wellbutrin, but I doubt it is causing the word-finding difficulty.
Just IMHO.

Yes probably Cymbala. However I posted my story somewhere around here -- after thirty+ years of psych meds I am nearly free of them. Sometimes they just keep adding and/or changing meds beaccause of side effects of they dont know what else to do. (Drug companies LOVE psychiatrists!!)

Weight gain- not wellbutrin
Insomnia- could be wellbutrin
memory trubles- could be wellbutrin
Akathisia? Is that truble siting still? - could be wellbutrin. The other 2 meds I have not taken.
