I wanted to know if any grad (or undergrad) students can direct me to a database that doesnt charge for access to their articles. I have access to Ebsco host, but can not get everything I need there. Any ideas?

Can't think of anything sorry :-(
I sometimes have trouble finding the articles I want online even with university subscriptions I still have to interloan articles quite often. If you know what you are looking for (in terms of the name of the article or an author) you can find it through google then see whether there is free access to it.
Google can also be helpful to find peer reviewed articles though I guess it is a bit more laborious than databases...
Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Hey,
Most journals offer articles for free public access after about a year since publication. You will almost always need a subscription or university access to get brand new material. Some authors have their work linked in their cv's on their academic homepages also, if you know exactly what paper you want. Ebsco is a good journal database, you can also try pubmed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi) for articles over a year or so old. If you know a specific paper you'd like or a need help finding material I can help, my university has most readily available online.
keep smilin,
Ben

For free stuff, Google Scholar is a place to start; it's getting better all the time. http://scholar.google.com/advanced_scholar_search
If G-Scholar shows only the abstract is available free, I try searching regular Google for unique-sounding word strings from the abstract. Sometimes you get lucky and find that some prof has put the full article (or a draft) on her own web site.
Also, I've been surprised at the major medical journals (like NEJM, AJP, etc) that my local public library subscribes to in e-format, but they're probably on Ebsco, if you've already got a subscription to that. I have to log on thru the library's web page, but then I can get some full-text articles free. It's easier to search for them some other way first, though.

http://www.medscape.com/px/urlinfo
Which also has access to Medline. You can register for free. Sometimes you can only get the abstract. But sometime you can get the whole article.Maxime

Well, there is Pubmed Central, which only lists full-text articles...

A great help in finding resources online is the book "The Insider's Guide to Mental Health Resources Online". In addition to resources, there are a lot of great tips on how to do an effective search.
