"Essential Psychopharmacology" is the main one I use. It has a great deal of information and features diagrams that are designed to be as easy to understand as possible. I personally don't think it's too out of date yet.Todd

I'm not sure what qualities you are looking for in a book, but I like "The PDR for Mental Health Professionals." It has descriptions of psychotropics, s/e's, and counter-indications. It doesn't sound as detailed as the one Todd recomended, but I have found it helpful.

I have to agree that anything written by Dr. Stahl is excellent. He's big into learning theory and organizes and presents his material in a such a way as to facilitate mastery of the material. Read the intro to one of his books and he will tell you how to "read" the book.
