Hi!
Since the sedative chloral hydrate is metabolised to trichloroethanol, I wondered whether anyone on babble has found that the effects of chloral resemble the effects of alcohol ie. ethanol.
Have you taken chloral?
Ed.

I took it. I found tolerance developed VERY rapidly to it's effects. Within a week. When I stayed awake on it initially it definately had that depressant/alcohol warm comfortable ease sensation...but I would say it was not 'exactly' like alcohol in a pill.

I take Chloral Hydrate for sleep and have for 7 years. I haven't developed a tolerance though. Do you take capsules or liquid? How much did you take? Did your pdoc Rx it for you? I take 7cc of liquid at bedtime. Thanks for answering. Phillipa
Hi Ed; I E-Mailed you. Hope you got it . Happy New Years to Everybody! Phillipa O

Hi,
It was years ago, and I took the capsules for about 1 week.
