Your worst side effect?

Posted by Maximus on December 17, 2004, at 10:15:02

I can't decide between: *apathy and sexual side effects*.

And if you have time, you can read below.

***********************************************
When i feel very good and my libido is there, the inability to reach orgasm is the ultimate injure to me. I can tell you guys, this side effect sucks life of our couple. This continues to worsen years after years.

On the other hand, although SSRI/SNRI(s) have been a godsend for my bipolar depression, they are also a real curse. Apathy is still there, in spite years of treatments. My energy and my drive have not returned.

P.S. Sometimes my pdoc and i try an "add-on". Too bad, they stop to work or i can't stand the side effects. Stimulants, TCAs, DA agonists, herbs, oils, etc. you can name it.

Bravo! Vous avez tout lu. Any comments?

Between those two side effects? I'd say the sexual side effects. The worst overall side effect for me = weight gain. It made me more depressed than I was to begin with....

My worst side effect is worsening of depression.

By the way, I can't understand how they can consider a med that induces apathy an antidepressant. Isn't apathy a symptom of depression ?
