Hello,
Many years ago pemoline was withdrawn from the market in the UK due to the liver toxicity issue. The brand name was Volital. Since it's still available elsewhere I wondered whether anyone on psycho-babble has ever taken it. If so, what effect did it have?

I took pemoline many years ago, for ADHD. It is a stimulant with a long half-life (about 12 hours), so its advantage over preparations available at the time was its lack of stim-induced crashing. As a matter of fact, I think it is unique in this regard, as Provigil has a similar half-life, but still would cause a crash at the end of the day. Pemoline was the only 'smooth' stim I have ever been on. I had to d/c it due to weight loss.
As far as I can recall, it was more effective than ritalin. But it may also be that my symptoms have worsened with time.
