I'm feeling better than I have in months.
I watched star wars and indiana jones today. I enjoyed them.
I just wish there was more research on rTMS.
The effect is unmistakable. My brain is so quiet. All of a sudden I realize I am the only one in the room. Parts of my brain that have literally been chattering for months have shut up.Music sounds so linear and normal. For about 2 months, I had a problem where music would sound like it was speeding up and slowing down.
I've been sleeping like a baby. All through the night. I havn't slept soundly for months.

Linkadge,
Isn't it wonderful when all of a sudden it dawns on you that you feel _good_. Try to remember this time, so that when you are down, that you have this time to look back on and use as a baseline to what is achievable in your head.
I am pleased to hear the treatment you are getting is helping you! Isn't music grand? It's the one thing that helps me determine where my head is. My ability to get real enjoyment from music (one of my great loves) is what I use to gauge where my head is.
Keep on keepin' on. :)

Hi,
It's really good to hear you sounding so optimistic. Keep listening to the music, it does more for my mood tham most ADs!
Best Wishes,
Ed.

It's the nature of the brain (state dependant memory) to not be able to remember the good times when times are bad, and not to remember the bad times when things are good, but I'll try nonetheless.
The rTMS is an invisetiagetional proceesure that uses electromagnetic pulses to activate certain arease of the brain that are underactive in depression.I build myself a simpllistic device, but I know there are places that are offering it professioally.

Hi,
I think it would be really good if you could get the rTMS done professionally. That way, you would probably be more confident in its safety.
Regards,
Ed.

Is it really that simple that someone can build one of their own? That's rather amazing.

> Is it really that simple that someone can build one of their own? That's rather amazing. The physics is rather straight forward. You can calculate the field intensity a given distance away from a coil with a certain number of windings, at a current of a certain amount.....that sort of thing.
I remember asking link a few technical questions about it, and he'd gone to some actual research protocols, and designed a device to give the same output. That said, I also admire his courage in actually putting his noggin on the line.

I hate to say this: I know it works but I really don't trust it.
I couldn't contientiously know that I helped someone else build one because I don't know for sure that putting an electromagnet to your head is not going to cause cancer down the road.
Emotionally I feel a lot better, but I have this strong "lights on but nobody's home" feeling.
