What would happen if a person took xxxmg of ativan and xxxmg of Ambien? Would she be able to sleep for 10 hours and then function the next day?

She MIGHT be able to sleep a lot and function the next day. More likely scenario: serious confusion the next day and mad oversleeping. Not to mention the fact that you run a risk of oversedation (Ambien's safe, but its still a sleeping pill). Someone who tried this might get good rest, or they might pull a Marilyn Monroe.

This person has to go to day treatment in the morning,and got zero sleep last night...desperate for sleep. Must be up 14 hours from now and take morning meds and go..

Oh, and I dont think it's life threatening from what I have been able to gather, and I intend to inform my pdoc and everyone about it. I Have been feeling suicidal, but this is not that, just need to sleep...desperate to sleep

I suggest you put a call in to your doc tonight, and tell him your idea. Maybe he or she will have a better suggestion. It sounds like you have taken large doses of these meds before. How much ativan have you been Rx'd, and how much have you taken before, same with the Ambien. What is your DX, and what meds do you take in the am? You should not take all that ativan and ambien! im not used to ambien or ativan at all, usually im on my geodon and wellbutrin but i had panic attacs recently. I'm going to sleep now thank you for your concern it really touches me

Sleep well. I hope you did not take all the meds you said you wanted to. lmg of ativan and l ambien will put you to sleep if you have not taken them before. This is only my opinion, ask your doc first. Hope your Depression gets better, and please do not act on any suicidal thoughts.

well i hurt and hurt and hurt from my grandma and my mother dying recently and I'm a worthless person but maybe I can change but it's probably too late, there are so many things i could have said and done and now it' s too late

I'm so sorry about your situation.
But, please do not take xxxmg of Ativan at one time, ESPECIALLY with another sedative, and ESPECIALLY since you've never taken Ativan before. That is an incredibly high dose. That is just way too much all at once, please don't do it!!!

I'm sorry about your mother and grandma.
You're not worthless, it's not too late and change is inevitable so it might as well be change for the better. Get that indomitable spirit ( or whatever) back in gear drink a lot of coffee and head on in to day program. Call a cab if you can't drive.

ya that's me. Living in Hollywood area, very depressed, trying new meds blah blah blah. Still trying to decide my options living wise, it all just seems so futile with our intrepid leaders

Yeah sorry I didn't understand that maybe your doc didn't give this all to you with directions when I read it. My docs KNOW I am taking this mix and how much in part its to keep me from needing MORE Ambein...so if I trade my day valium for all at night it is cool with them but I am not to exceed any dose. I do think you did take a LOT of AMBEIN I have never taken over 20 mgs I am glad youre ok stay that way...k? As to Ativan I only had it twice and in the hospital I do not know the doses but please do be careful. Sorry if I mislead or lead you astray ..I feel very badly for that.
