I got extreme itchnessand welt from scratching hip, i thought i could die of the itchiness... anyway it's like day 7 on wellbutrin and ive been on 300 for 2 days. Anyways, I don't want to come off it! Maybe it will go away? don't side affects usally go away? Has anyone had the itchies and then sucessfully stayed on wellbutrin?

I had that problem with wellbutrin as well, taking benadryl helps but isn't a long term fix. My doc lowered my dose and the itching stopped but it stopped working at the lower dose so I had to switch all together. It might go away eventually but if yours is as bad as mine was (which it sounds like it might be) I couldn't wait it out long enough to find out. I itched so bad that I scratched sores on myself, and couldn't sleep because I itched all night long. Good luck.

I had the itches from wellbutrin too. It was extreme. But they did go away after a few weeks. I started Wellbutrin last September. I think the itchies were gone by mid October. Good luck!!

Hey Mad scientist,
Did your itchires leave little weltys and stuff? The itchiness is gone today but hand feel swoleen. Anyway, you are encouraging me that it isn't a deadly allergic reaction that lead to permanent and debiliating syndromes! My pdoc is calling and hopefully he will know. He doesn't seem to take the dangers of these drugs as seriuous as me or as I think he should.

The swelling is a little worrisome. There can be an allergic reaction to this drug. I was nervous about this for a while. Most of my itching was on my legs and arms. I had lots of little red bumps, so I thought it was an allergy. Man it was bad for a while. It is a good idea to phone your doc to get it checked out. Good luck!!!

I had the same problem with Wellbutrin I broke out in hives from head to toe, swollen hands also. You are allergic and with every pill you take it will only get worse. What I did was stopped taking it for a month to let it get out of my system, started back but I took it with 10mg of zyrtec and I had no problems. Good luck

Yeah my pdoc said come off it and you usaully have to be puking blood for him to say that so. I liked how it gave me energy, it was like i couldn't sit at home and not take care of things even if I wanted to.
