How long have you been taking it and at what dose?

I had a very rough start with effexor, but it really helped my anxiety once I gave it a chance. The timing is critical on this med, so for the best results I would try to take it consistently for at least 2 weeks.
2 doses aren't enough to tell whether it's giving you any benefit.

I took effexor for anxiety once and it knocked my anxiety through the roof. I dont see how this worthless medication can get an approval for anxiety!

This is the first time I have heard Luvox mentioned. I too, was able to go on Luvox about 6 years ago without any side effects and it worked well for me. Then my doctor decided he wanted me to go on a Celexa trial and used every excuse to change me when I didn't want to. He won and I switched. Felt awful, and when I went back on it about 6 months later I couldn't take as much and didn't feel as well. I keep telling the new doctor to put me on it and he wouldn't. He just looks at old records and says it didn't work. Can't get a different pdoc because he is the only one in the area . We live near Emerald Isle in NC, and there is no decent medical care. Any suggestions?
