I just found this video-clip that discusses the relationships between serotonin, norepinephrine, and depression. It describes a "cycling" that occurs in the brain, in which the neurotransmitters are used up too quickly (atleast I think this is what it was saying, I might be confused).
I thought it was interesting because I had never heard of this "cycling" described before. So if anyone else is interested:

Thats the theory of why antidepressants work, is because they slow the cylcing (reputake) process.
A SNRI, (ie effexor, cymbalta) is a serotonin, norepinephrine reputake inhibitor. It slow the uptake of serotonin and norepinephrine.

Oh, ok I get it now. They were using cycling to mean reuptake...that makes more sense.
