Hi I take 3mg daily of klon. and wonder if anyone has noticed an increased tolerance to klon compared to say xanax? Like, i took xanax for years and it wasnt until like a few months ago that i asked for an up on my dose, then my pdoc switched me to klonopin. But i feel like i could take more than 3mg a day. But i am worried she will think that i am getting addicted already.? what is the average dose???

I'm on a very low dose - 1.25mg per day and I just got this increased from .75mg per day after taking it for a month. I would have liked to have it increased a little more but my pdoc wouldn't go for it. I guess addition IS a big issue with most docs. All you can do is contact him and describe how you're feeling and see what he'll do. I don't know what the average dose is but someone on this board mentioned to me that they had taken 16mg daily!

What are you on the Klonopin for, and were you on Xanax for the same thing? Panic, GAD, social anxiety, or another condition?
I think 3 mg./day is a little on the high side, but I take 1.25 mg./day in divided doses for severe anxiety/panic disorder etc.
But 3 mg./day (when do u take it, by the way?) for severe panic disorder/attacks does not seem that excessive to me...
I have found Xanax (reg. version) and Klonopin both seemingly equal in regards to tolerance "time frames", but as I recall Xanax did sustain/work at the same dose for a slightly longer period of time than Klonopin.
