I've read about depression being related to upregulation of receptors. Durring stress dopamine gets converted into norepinephrine, and the brain has to compensate by increasing the amount of dopamine, right? So what happens if you artificially, using drugs, dramatically lower levels of dopamine for a period of, say two weeks. Would the effect be the same as actue stress? Would it turn someone from 'yellow' to 'blue'? Is it reversible?

I would say that at times the meds will cause stress. So some times I will take a break from them, but go right back when the stress returns from not having the meds. It can go both ways.
