Hi
I took my last klonopin pill exactly seven days apart. So is Anafranil. I was on klonopin 1 mg and 50 mg of Anafranil. I stopped both of them cold turkey.
Now after a week, I feel shaky and restless. I have nocturnal jerks which disrupt my sleep constantly.
Can anybody explain what I am experiencing now. If it is Klonopin withdrawal, why it comes so late as exactly one week later? Or is it lack of Anafranil in my system? I think Anafranil is the culprit here, because I have come off klonopin many times in my past without problems. But this time One more drug is involved and that makes the correct diagnosis a little difficult. Can anybody share their experiences please!

I am on Anafranil and am in the proccess of trying to get of it. All I can say is that based on my experience it might well be the Anafranil.I have tried to stop Anafranil cold turkey and found that I felt restless and that my sleep quality was very poor, never got further than one day off!

Hi Outsider,
Interesting. My pdoc once assured me anafranil is not an addictive drug and whenever I wish I can stop it cold turkey. But he was cautious on klonopin and warned me it can be addictive and never try to come off it without tapering. All I am experiencing is contrary to what I heard from him. It is better to say nothing of the quality of my sleep now. It is very poor. Tooth grinding, involuntary movements and nightmares, all makes it a hell. Yesterday, I took a little bit of klonopin to help me sleep, still it hardly helped. I think I will up the dose of klonopin and after one or two weeks when my body gets adjusted to the absence of anafranil, will drop klonopin also. What do you think?

I don't have much experience of Benzos, although I can't imagine a little Klonopin now and again will do much harm.
Regarding the addictivness of drugs I don't know if you should trust your doctor, I was told Dexedrine was addictive and yet I stopped taking 30mgs a day cold turkey, no problem!
On the other hand Clomipramine seems to be another story..... I to have noticed poor quality sleep coming of it.
This is the end of the thread.
