Anyone experienced increased weight and or appetite with this med?
I've been on it for about three months and in that time I've gained weight which is really starting to annoy me!
Could this be due to clomipramine or am I just greedy and over eating because I feel down?

Clomipramine, amitriptyline and various other TCAs are notorious for causing increased appetite and weight gain. This may be due to several factors: anti-histamine action of clomipramine may possibly increase appetite, blocking certain serotonin receptors may also increase appetite, and finally, if the clomipramine is causing sedation this may lead to reduced activity levels and subsequent weight gain.
All the best..

In a word, yes. I've been on Clomipramine for a couple of months now. I have to fight the urge to eat too much daily; particularly sweets.
Clomipramine has also elevated my heart rate to around 100 bpm. I'm at 100mg twice per day.

Clomipramine was of the best antidepressants for me, unfortunately it did lead to weight gain and that's the reason I stopped. Even when I went on astrict diet and exersised every day--still gained weight.
