Has anyone been taken off Effexor and put on Wellbutrin on the same day. I didn't like the side effects of Effexor and my doctor suggested this path. I"m on day 2 and feel like a nauseuous zombie. Any thoughts?

Nausea is the most common side effect of anti-depressant, esp. Wellbutrin. It will probably subside in a week or so. But yeah its OK to start the WB the same day even. Some people take the two in combination.

My doctor took me off Lexapro and put me on Wellbutrin on the same day. It was tolerable. But back when my doctor switched me from Effexor to Lexapro, he dropped the dosage of the Effexor gradually. I had a harder time going off of Effexor than I did with any SSRI. I wonder why your doctor didn't cut you back gradually on Effexor while starting the Wellbutrin... Were you on a very low dose of Effexor?

I take both of these at the same time, in the XL and XR versions. They helped me immensely with my depression and anxiety. I take them in the morning when I get up.
It took many weeks for the side effects to subside but I am glad I stuck with it.

Day 4 - I talked to the doctor and am now tapering off the Effexor and added the Wellbutrin. Thanks for your help - it made a big difference
