Just changed meds, again...
Any comments on drinking while taking your lithium? I don't seem to be "feeling" anything thus far, not sleepy in the middle of the day or morning hang over. Have a big engagement party this weekend, going to have something to drink, but would like to know other's experiences.

I'd be curious to hear others' experience with Li and etoh. For me, prodgirl, it takes a lot of booze to get me high - by that I mean I no longer get the giggles and euphoria of college days that I did before Li. I seem to tolerate more alcohol than I used to also. That does not mean I'm not drunk and a dangerous driver, my cognitive abilities are impaired, reflexes, judgement, memory, etc. It's kind of a bummer but I wouldn't give up the safe life I have on Li for beer pong.
Maybe that's why, despite my age (I have 3 kids in college) I smoke an occasional (2-3x/year) doob for grins. Li seems to have no effect in modulating ganja's intoxicating effect. Beer pong seems so silly when you can listen to classic Genesis, Yes and Dire Straits buzzed.

I realize I am days behind your post i am hoping you are being informed of new replys...If I remember my early days being bi/polar and taking Lithium I believe it is a deadly duo....and a very ..touchy one...one too many pills ..one too many drinks could be all it takes depending of course on the individual....ask your pharmacist..PLEASE
