>I suggest for ANYONE considering going on Effexor ...NOT TO....If you have just taken it a few days...GET OFF....I have been on Effexor for 1 1/2 years....I have gained 20 lbs and felt like it wasnt helping at all. My Dr. decided to put me on Wellibutrin instead as I had started smoking again, he advised me just to get up the next morning and take Wellibutrin instead...Two days later, I could barely work. I was having the strangest feeling (undescribable). I was scared to drive as I live in a major metropolitan area. I woke up crying in the middle of the night. As far as alcohol, my boyfriend has forbidden me to drink while on Effexor, he said I act like a psycho and I never remember anything the next morning. I am now trying to wean "MYSELF" from Effexor as the Dr feels it shouldnt be a problem to just stop taking it and start taking Wellibutrin.

>Effexor is great for those that need it & the withdrawl effects are pretty well known. What doseage were you trying to withdrawl from? Prozac substitution is the best way to get off Effexor.
