i'm not a good one to answer this but i'll try. i felt like i wasn't going to go back into the dark hole pretty quickly...like about 50 mg.- 100mg. However lamictal never did provide me with any 'lifting of spirits'. Not going back to the black hole was a big thing tho. I also was extremely energized by the time i reached 350mg....i was nuts, but i was energized.

I went up 25mgs a week. Which is too fast really. I was in extreme discomfort from depression, until I got to about the 150 mark or higher. I am currently at 200mg daily. Many people I know take much more than that. I felt like hell. I was in terrible mental pain before it started working. I'd had to quit all that other stuff which I had assumed was doing nothing. I'v tried taking more than 200 hundred just to see if more was better. Over 200mg daily I sleep to lightly. I can watch myself sleeping and it just doesn't work.

Stick with it. It has been the best med I ever used and I tried more than a few. I know everybody's experience with psycho-active meds is completely different. Lamictal has been working very well for two and a half years now. No weight gain and I still have a libido.
