Regarding Milnacipran

Posted by iris2 on September 22, 2004, at 11:08:29

I posted that I was to start Milnacipran and would post a journal.

Unfortunately I started it twice for two days each time and sadly discovered that I cannot tolerate it because of my interstitial cystitis.

Just wanted to inform because I had said I would update here.

That really stinks. I'm so sorry.

What's next?

Hi...

I have vulvodynia and was hopeful this drug might help me. Do you mind sharing how the drug impacted on your IC? If it's too personal, I totally understand. I was hopeful because elavil helped my pain a lot but pooped out after a year. I'd read that milnacipram had a similar chemical profile to elavil.

Hang in.

Not sur what is next. Probalby Cymalta since the it was the other one I was looking at. Looks like at least with Cymalta I have a good chance it will not have an adverse affect on my bladder as it is used for bladder problems. That does not mean it is okay for mine. But given the symptoms it is supposed to help it looks promising.

No problem sharing. I had within hours of taking it frequency/urgency. After the second to third dose I started to have pain. This occured both times. I wanted to make sure it was from the Milnacipran and not leftover problems from when I increased the Amisulpride. Unfortunately it was not. I do not know much about your illness. I hope this helps you.
