Hi
I know yawning is a side effect of Efexor. What a nuicence. My yawns are constant, huge and end in a throat constriction that leaves me unable to breath for a few seconds. I have to suck in air quite sharply to get my breath back. Then I'm dizzy for a second or two. I have been taking Efexor XR 75mg for three weeks. If anyone else has experienced this side effect, did it eventually ease up?
Another annoying side effect is that I startle very easily, especially with movement from peripheral vision. If something moves slightly or looks as though it is going to fall, I get a huge fright. If there is a loud noise or something like that, the fright I get reduces me to tears.
Anyone experience one or both of the above?
Regards
Sabrina

I definately had the yawns alot, and alot of constricted throat and chest muscles after I yawned, so it felt like I couldn't breath for a few seconds. When that happens, relax your jaw and throat as much as you can, and it'll help release the tension. I think it happens because it makes your jaw so tense. My jaw kept shaking too. It will ease up after a few weeks. Mine is practically gone now.

I kinda thought the massive yawns were nice, kinda made me feel like a cat, even though I'm a Pooh Bear...
