Could the use of an OTC drug like dextromethorphan prevent, halt or reverse tolerance to dexedrine or Ritalin? A big problem with therapeutic use of these stimulants for people with ADHD is that tolerance often builds up quickly to the effects, rendering them useless.
Researchers not long ago found that teeny-tiny doses of dextromethorphan, normally an opiate inhibitor, became, paradoxically, an opiate enhancer when taken in wee-small doses instead:http://opioids.com/tolerance/paincontrol.html
So I was wondering if dexedrine tolerance could be reversed by the same or analogous means. Has this been tried.(I know it may be a naive question, but maybe one of you brain-o bio-chemists out there will tell me if I'm on to something. Please be gentle.)

Mistake! Please strike the words "teeny tiny doses of" from the above post, so that it makes sense.

hello there, chemist here...regardless of typos, etc., do look back over the past week-two weeks for posts from Ame Sans Vie: he has extensively detailed just what you have outlined, and knows his stuff, do have a look...all the best, chemist

Dexedrin is not even an opiate, so why would DXM have any effect whatsoever on it? You did not mention one thing about DXM's effect on amphetamines/psycho-stimulants.

i know using DXM with stimulants has possible adverse health reactions. check out www.erowid.org and goto the DXM vault, then read the FAQ or health...ect.
