Any recommendations for Effexor look alikes?

Posted by sanfran on August 17, 2004, at 15:15:11

Wondering if anyone else had some positive experiences with effexor, only to go off of it due to many side-effects? Are there any other medications that mimic effexor in it's anti-anxiety and depression relief?

Most people complain that effexor was difficult to stop. I was on the other end of the spectrum, no matter how much I took it did nothing.

Effexor was presented to me as the next best thing to the advent of the mouse trap. It was supposed to do all these multi tasking of my nurons for me. As i said, it did "diddley squat" for me.

Effexor is inhibitors of neuronal serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake and weak inhibitors of dopamine reuptake.

We then started tackling norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine on individual bases.

There are many meds that adress each. Your just going to have to find the perfect cocktail that suits your needs. It's not that bad to take 3 meds is it?
