I have been taking Effexor xr150mg for 2 1/2 yrs and I am just simply sick of it, its time to move on get real, I truly believe I was overdiagnosed and I was never even severaly depressed to start with. I am wondering if I should open up my 75mg pills and remove one or a couple small balls and put it into juice, and doing this each day until I slowly wean off, this is about the slowest way to wean off this stuff right!!! WHY NOT DO IT THAT WAY!!! Of course my pharmacist will tell me dont do it but they dont want to get sued.

I've done it to save money. When I went from 150 to 225, I had tons of my old 150 pills but didn't want to buy the 75 pills to go with them right away since that meant I would lose many 150 so I basically opened up one 150, chuged half the balls and then took another 150 and saved the other half of the first 150 for the next day. And voila, homemade 225.
To me it sounds like a good plan ...

I take XR so I am a little bit concerned about splitting up the pills, the Extended release tabs might contain various different types of balls, well I dont even know what the heck is in them, my doctor will not tell me, she never told me when I started how the withdrawl was so terrible, Well the drug companies dont even thell the doctors, about all the negative stuff, Its business and $$$$$$$ talks $$$$ walks.

Hmmm... I don't know ... I was also taking XR ... I always figured the granules were all the same ... basically just a small amount that lets the company weight and control how much is in each capsule because if they were different things then they would have to dose each and put each tipe in the capsule in a sequence so as to have a uniform dosage ... just doesn't seem all that practical to me.
I can relate to the whole not being told about the withdrawal ... it made me feel betrayed in a way. Even though in the end I probably would have taken it anyway because I needed it at the time, I wish I had been told. I tend to really dislike suprises.
