Well, I am noticing insomnia now. I take xanax, but need alot more than usual. I was up at 4 am this morning. Will this subside? I have also just started taking lamictal again too. (i was on paxil and it didnt work). Anyone with advise or experiance with prozac please let me know what to expect.

For me, the insomnia subsided eventually, but I am an early riser and waking up at 4 AM or 5 AM did not bother me. To help me sleep at night, I just took generic over the counter Benadryl as needed.

When I first took Prozac, I had intense headaches also, but I just took aspirin every 3 to 4 hours and in 2.5 weeks, not only were my headaches gone, so was my depression! Hang in there because it will get better--the sleepiness will also disappear and you will have more energy once the Prozac has reached its therapeutic level which takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 weeks. Please be patient.

thanks for the encouragement. I will try to get through the next few weeks. I also feel anger today. I hope thats just part of the initial crap, I would hate to go from sweet to a mean person because of prozac....strange...
