Posted by tampagirl70 on June 21, 2004, at 8:07:14

please tell me i'll be feeling better soon. its been 3 weeks since i re-started celexa 40mg and wellbutrin XL 300mg. my pdoc and T keep telling me to hold on and things will get better soon, but what if they don't? sometimes i just wish i were dead so i wouldn't have to deal with this. i'm not contemplating offing myself, i just want the pain to go away. help! :(

3 weeks is NOT enough time for the meds to work! I know it's difficult but you have to hang in there. IT WILL GET BETTER. And remember, never surrender!

how long do you think it'll take? my pdoc told me 3-4 weeks, but i've heard 4-6 weeks and 10-12 weeks sometimes. i was on these before and off them for 2 weeks - would that make any difference?

We all react differently to the medication, in my case, both, with Celexa and Lexapro, it took 8-9 weeks to feel the full benefit of the medication. It usually takes 6-8 weeks for most patients.

Is the wellbutrin (any) a new thing? That could be why you don't feel good. Celexa does not take that long for me. Usualy in a week. Wellbutrin can cause anxiety. Wellbutrin takes longer to get use to, maybe 3 months or more.

i was on the celexa/wellbutrin combo for 2 or 3 years until about 2 months ago when i went off the wellbutrin. my major problem is ocd and it takes longer for celexa to help with the ocd (so i'm told). when i first started it years ago, i didn't notice any side effects.

Did you go off the celexa two months ago? What does OCD do to you?

i went off the celexa may 20th and restarted it june 1st, but i was down to 10mg for about 10 days before i went off of it. looking back, i wasn't taking enough of it for a couple months before i went off of it.

the ocd causes EXTREME anxiety, makes me depressed, i feel like i'm going crazy, my head is full of racing thoughts, fears become obsessions - its a totally awful experience.
