I gave a 7 weeks up to 225 and it was making me worse . I had high hopes too..lol oh well went back to the old stand by prozac felt like a new person the first day I didn't take effexor. No withdrawl and I'm slowly coming back to life. I do know that my depression is born not only of my chemical makeup but I'm at a place in my life where my walls are coming down . So meds are there to support me I couldn't function without them but the work is coming from therapy to change my life. one more note I suffer from anxiety / panic and effexor made it much worse. Prozac zaps it away.... :)

In reply to well effexor not a good med for me, posted by rainee on June 14, 2004, at 12:07:10
Hi Rainee,
Im glad to hear prozac is working for you! Glad you are coming back to life. It can be so subtle(the coming back feeling),but is the best feeling ever.
Well, Effexor just wasnt the right med for me either. I too went to 225 for 3 mo. I never had so much anxiety in my life. The walls came down (crashed down)in my life too. Effexor destroyed my life. I cant believe we both stuck with it for so long. We deserve like, fair trial Medals,.
I hope you contine to feel better.
Best wishes,
CindyBy the way, Ive read many posts that say Prozac is very helpfull with Effexor withdrawl.
