I talked to my pharmacist and today when they checked the distributor, the distributor had the 250's in stock. So, the pharmacist ordered it today. I just picked up the 30 day supply of Serzone from what the store had in stock, so it will be about 3-4 weeks til I come in to buy the 90 day supply on my next scrip, but the pharmacist ordered enough for that. I'll call to check in a couple of weeks, just in case someone else came in who uses this med, but I think should be ok for now.
I wonder--if I have a prescription for more than 90 days, I know the insurance won't cover it, but can I buy it if I pay cash? Maybe my pdoc will help me out in getting a longer supply of the med while it is in stock. Does anyone know if this is kosher?

Hi Noa:
In answer to your question below:>>>> I wonder--if I have a prescription for more than 90 days, I know the insurance won't cover it, but can I buy it if I pay cash? Maybe my pdoc will help me out in getting a longer supply of the med while it is in stock. Does anyone know if this is kosher? <<<
--- I have no idea to say whether you are able to purchase some more supply, because *normally* my pdoc. does not write a script if I still have enough supply. Also, it seems this, *90 days supply* is maximum, ... but I'm guessing.
In my case, as in one of my previous posts, ... I wrote I had more than 90 days' supply. One reason is that I take two or three 150 mg. tablets a day, but my pdoc. usually rxed 'three 150 mg. Nefadozone.' Hence, I have 'ample' supply of Nefadozone, ... until around Labor Day.Then, one thing you may do is that you ask your pdoc. to write *three* 250 mg. Nefadozone a day, ... instead 'two' 250 mg. Nefadozone, for a reason of the current 'high' demand of Serzone/Nefadozone. But, ... frankly and honestly, I have no knowledge about whether your pdoc. is understanding enough to write this, ... 'fake' dosage of Nefadozone.
In my case, .... probably my pdoc. will help me out due to 'unusual'/uncertainly of Nefadozone's future, ... but I don't know about other pdocs.
You may need to call your pdoc.'s office to talk this matter over phone, if you think this is appropriate thing for you to do under the current situation over Nefadozone.
