I agree. When I went to the Dr. for anxiety he gave me Xanax, then Effexor to wean off of the Xanax. Pretty soon I was on both for 2 years!
My life has become a living hell since going off of Effexor. It took me about 2 months to wean off Effexor, which I have now been off of for over a month. I've since gained 20 lbs. due to my estrogen being so out of whack, so what does the Dr. say? Maybe we should try another anti-depressant for a while. HELLO, did he even listen to what I was saying or just slap me w/ yet a new DX of depression? I've NEVER had a problem with depression, only anxiety. So, here's what I've been doing. I'm going to a N.D. for accupuncture, drinking tons of water, drinking Chinese Herbs, and walking 4 miles a day. Yes, it is hard, it is the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life. I am going to make it though "one f*ing day at a time". Today the thought popped into my head that I am a recovering Effexor junkie. Truly, and a Dr. and drug co. did this to me while I just went along. Yes, I asked if the meds are addictive and the answer was always NO. Well, that is complete BS, it is just as addictive as heroin. Look at the hell we've all been through.
As I said, every day is hard and it sucks, but I refuse to go on anything EVER again. My poor family and friends, who have seen me go through this. They need to take Effexor off the market now!
This is the end of the thread.
