The Zoloft sleepies!

Posted by starflower on May 5, 2004, at 9:58:22

Hi there

I started on 50mg Zoloft 7 days ago. I felt a definite anti-depressant effect after about 3 days.

However, it seems to have lessened now and I have also become INCREDIBLY tired. I am taking it at night, but I still feel sluggish and unmotivated during the day.

Also, I don't think the depression has been fully relieved because I'm still not really getting enjoyment out of anything, and still feel a bit locked in my head.

So, my questions are:

a)Does anyone have experience of the tiredness going away?

and

b) Is the tiredness lessened at a higher dose - ie should I suggest to my doc that we bump it up to 100mg?

Many thanks

SF

Dear SF
One week is not long enough to recieve the full benefit of Zoloft.
Wait at LEAST 4 weeks to make a better decision.
The tiredness and other side-effects will also run their course in time...and disapate.

God bless

It has been two weeks now and the sleepies went after ten days or so, which is great. I also feel LOADS better, more positive, more energetic.

So hoorah for Zoloft

The only remaining side effecr is a dimishing of libido, but I'll see if that passes and if not will talk to my herbalist about some Ginko or something.

I am SO relieved to have found something that works - it has taken me 2 years and about 7 anti-depressants, so I wanted to give some hope to those who were in my position.
