Hello,
Has anyone ever tried the over the counter supplement "SAMe" (S-Adenosyl Methionine) for depression?? Was it of any use??
Did it also help anxiety?
I have read on the net that it is considered to be approximately 15% more effective than SSRIs.
For those who have tried it were there any side effects? Was it activating/stimulating or was is sedating?
I'm considering trying it as I'm sick of the side effects from the SSRIs, so any info would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I found it to be basically worthless.
maybe people on the natural remedies bord (which this will no doubt be directed to) wil have more positive things to say.
Good luck,,,,it just might work for you...

Go to the psychobabble alternatives. I have read a lot of posts on people who tried SAM-e, but few that were encouraging. It is also very expensive when you take 1200 to 1600 mg daily.

It didn't do a thing for me but I have a friend who is taking it with some positive result.
