Has anybody tried these combinations for adhd/and or depression:dex ,strattera & lexapro
Its seems that these meds cover the three main neurotransmitters.
I am on lexapro and Dextroamphetamine sulfate(immediate release).
Strattera has just been released in Aust.
and considering whether to include it to treat my adhd condition.There are no long acting dex in Australia and I do not think there will be in the near future.By adding strattera with Dex i will be getting treatment 24/7 for my adhd condition.Because of current abuse of dex in aust recently drs are reluctant to prescribe higher dosages than 30mg per day which I am on now.Do you guys think its worth while to add strattera to my medicine cabinet

Someone on this board said recently that Strattera was a failed antidepressant which the company was desperately trying to find a use for. Be suspicious of all new drugs - they are ridiculously hyped. If the dex works, stick with it, and make sure your psychiatrist prescribes an adequate dose for you. Do you take it 2 or 3 or 4 times a day? By the way, happy (late) ANZAC Day.

Thanks Keith very sound advice
I take Dex 3 times per day at a total dose of 30mg.for the day.
I was basically hopeing that with strattera i will take it once per day and be covered for the entire time I take it like SSRI in a sense for my depression.However it appears from the message boards that Strattera is no magic bullet and the stimulants have a proven track record.

How are things down under?
I don't see any harm in trying strattera. I have read posts from people who are on both strattera and ritalin who seem to do ok.
