Celexa/Buspar

Posted by SuperC on April 22, 2004, at 12:23:56

Gals and Guys, I've been lurking on this board for a month or two ad have found it very interesting and helpful. I could not believe how many people had such similar reactions to some of the meds that I did.

Was wondering if any of you are taking Celexa ane Buspar? I've noticed on some of the online pharmacy prescribing info, it says not to mix the two. On Celexa's site, their prescribig info does not specifically mention Buspar.

My anxiety was horrible and it just showed up one morning. Got tha under control with Buspar and Xanax and then when trying the different AD's started having the anxiety return as well as the depression.

Im a 48 year old male and have never had any of these types of problems in my life.

Anyway, if any of you are on that combo, would you please let me know how it worked and if it was apdoc that prescribed it.

Also am taking 100mg Trazodone for sleep.

Thanks for any comments on experiences.

I was taking Effexor and Buspar with no problems. When Lexapro (a derivative of Celexa) came on the market, I switched to it and got off the Effexor. I then began to notice extreme anxiety/irritation (and a little depression) right after I took my daily does of Buspar. So, I tried tapering off the Buspar and, voila, the problem went away.

I found (and continue to find) Lexapro to be a great medication to help me with both my depression and anxiety.
