I was not, nor I am depressed. I do have tendencies toward obsessive-compulsive behavior & occasional (once a month) night sweats (perio-mentapause). My dr orginally recommeded 100 mg of Zoloft and during the first 2 months, I could hardly get out of bed in the morning. She reduced my mg to 50 and in the past 1 1/2 years it has worked great! No weight gain, no gasto problems & my obsessiveness has considerably calmed down, in fact I seem like a calmer person. However, my libido went in the toliet....So, my dr. recommeded Wellbutrin. I discontinued it after 4 weeks...I was crabby, major water weight gain (5 lbs) and my face and chest and back totally broke out in acne...glad to be off Wellbutrin. I am not trying to ween myself down to 25 mgs of Zoloft...50 one night and 25 the next 3-4 nights. Seems to be working just fine.

Can anyone relate to meds & obsessive-compulsive behavior? Will I need to stay on Zoloft the rest of my life??

i definitely understand. zoloft has really helped minimize my obsessions and ruminations. however, SSRIs do bad things to me-- they make me manic-- and even with a mood stabilizer on board, my dr doesn't want to push our luck. i'm starting to taper off the zoloft today. i'm praying that the rest of my meds will be able to keep the obsessions at bay.
