When I have been, *ahem*, masturbating lately, I feel pretty sick afterwards. I get really lightheaded, dizzy, and feel weak. Today, it seemed worse than usual because my heart was racing and I got a tension headache. Basically, it felt like a panic attack. Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm assuming it is med related because this has never happened prior to the last three weeks, when I came completely off my Paxil. Not surprisingly, my orgasms have definitely been more intense but, still, I'm a little concerned. I guess I'll have to deal with the embarrassment of telling my doctor.

I am not familiar with this, but good for you for posting the query. If the problem continues, please do ask your doc. It's bad enough to have trouble with sex in relationships when you're depressed or anxious already, but having trouble with sex with yourself REALLY sucks. Good luck!

A check up is in order if this is really problematic. Hyperventilation associated with breathing rapidly in the case of sexual arosal could induce a panic attack. It may not be the medication, but your threshold for an panic attack is lowered with the discontinuation of the Paxil.

My guess is that your body is getting used to having "real orgasms" again now that the Paxil is wearing off. As you probably found out, it is a pretty un-orgasmic drug.
I was always shocked by the intensity of my orgasms after I came off an antidepressant.
Discussing it with your doctor is a good idea, but I bet these symptoms will go away as you get used to being off the drug.

Have you been eating regularly? Sometimes orgasms can be intense...like running a mini-marathon in just a short time. If you hven't been eating well low blood sugar could be a factor.

Why be embarassed to ask your doctor? They deal with these sorts of things all the time, and don't give it a second thought. No guarantees on the results, but really, doctors have heard everything and rarely are fazed by anything, especially something like this that's everyday for them.
I realize that this may be difficult for you to discuss, but most doctors are pretty much immune to such normal problems.
