Stopping effexor made easy...so far

Posted by ku4ns on April 8, 2004, at 14:48:29

Nearly two weeks out from my last regularly scheduled effexor (37.5 mg)and feeling normal. This is my second attempt at stopping effexor. I have been on effexor for over a year and have slowly tapered down from 150mg to 37.5mg. My physician started me on prozac 20 mg 1 week before stopping the effexor completely, this has worked very well, so far. I appreciate Dr. Bob for having a way to communicate with others that have the same problems and wanted to share my positive experience in the hope of helping other like myself. John

I'm glad that you posted your success. I have heard excellent results of Effexor discontinuation if Prozac is taken in the process.
