Went to new pdoc today. He said that pexeva is a new "form": of paxil with a longer half life but even in the literature he gave me I don't see that. Does anyone know if this is true?

All i see is that the salt is mesylate instead of hydrochloride.I don't think it amounts to a significant difference or convenient dosing. It is being treated by the manufacturer as a brand name competitor, but it has the price of a generic, and it will be the cheapest paroxetine pill in America.

thanks for the reply. I was just hoping if it did have a longer half life that would make it easier to get off of. but I don't think he is correct.

I believe thay you are right( longer half life) Not! I do know this though- GSK is doing everything in their power to find indications for thier *miracle* drug -paxil-- they know it's off patent and like most other re-hashed meds-the orphan drug companies are grasping for the straws of the big $$$.. If it works for ya, stick with it-if you can!! Good luck
