My doctor has recommended switching from Effexor to Lexapro in the hopes of reducing very unnacceptable fatigue. Before I start this new regimen, I was hoping you folks who have taken Lexapro could give me some advice on the best time to take Lexapro to avoid sleepiness.
Thanks.

When I first started on it, about a year and a half a go, I took it in the evening since it made me tired. Then after a month or so, I switched to the morning.

Thanks Bill. I was thinking along the same lines. I just don't know why my doc thinks Lexapro will reduce daytime sleepiness.

I take Wellbutrin along with Lexapro. The Wellbutrin has helped reduce my tiredness during the day. It made me a little jittery, but just for the first 2 or 3 weeks. The Wellbutrin also has a positive effect on my concentration.

I also took it in the evening for the first month and switched to mornings. I had a lot of trouble with the *tired* feeling, drink more coffee now to counter act it.~~~8|8

I take it in the morning because it causes insomnia in me. But I still get that wired/tired feeling during the day. I guess you just have to figure out what works best for you. Good luck:) ...jlynne
