I am wondering which herbs/supplements anyone has had any luck with. I am pretty knowledgable in their regard but would like to see what others have used?

I currently can't take any real meds because of my sensitivities to them, all kinds of side effects.
I have been having a lot of luck with 5htp for my depression and anxiety. I have also heard of people having a lot of luck with St. John's Wort for depression which works a lot like the SSRI's
I currently see a doctor that practices both natural alternatives and regular presciption meds. She said that they have had a lot of luck with using Lithium orotate (natural organic form, non prescription) for bipolar. Personally, I would try lithium orotate first before ever trying prescription lithium just to see if it worked. No side effects and no danger to body and no bloodwork to monitor for toxicity
My mom also talked to a nurse at her general practioner's office and the nurse said she had been dealing with depression for years. She said she tried 6 different prescription meds with absolutely no luck. She said she then tried SAM-e and it has been working quite well. Good luck!
