I would like to hear from people who had success with 10 mgs of lex. Also tell me how long it took to feel better. Any info would be apprecaited. Thanks!

I was successful initially on 10mg/day, and really started to feel better after about week 4 if I recall correctly. Around week 8, things went bad again to I moved up to 20mg/day. I've been on 20mg/day for about 2 weeks now and I'm not sure what I going to do. Either stick it out another 6 weeks or cut back to 15mg - today was a rough day.

Hope this helps!

I have been on 10 mgs of lexapro for 5 months and have had tremendous results. I started to feel the benefits after about 3 weeks. I went through a rough spell about a month ago and thought about increasing to 15 or 20 mgs but decided to wait it out. I feel OK now, I wonder sometimes if the effect of the med ebbs and flows or maybe it is my mood that just isn't constant (I wouldn't want it to be!) So, YES I feel that I have had success on 10 mgs of Lexapro. Good Luck!

Is that all you are taking? I totally understand what you mean about the ebb and flow of mood. My depression used to be something I could fight off and move on. SOmetimes St John's Wort helped. But it got to the point where I could not fight it alon and then anxiety also appeared. Hopefully lex will do it. Some people say it takes up to 9 weeks to feel better.

Yeah, I just take the 10 mgs of lexapro and occasionally an ativan if I am anxious and ambien at night sometimes. I have always been very sensitive to medications and it seems to not take as much of anything for it to have an effect on me. Is it unusual to only take 10 mgs? I am also trying to get pregnant so I want to be on the lowest dosage possible. I felt benefits from the lex as soon as three weeks but it DID take longer for the full effect to kick in. How long have you been on lex?

I've been taking Lexapro for almost five months. I am sensitive to medications
so I started at 2.5 mg. It worked for a day or to then stopped. I went to 5mgs.
It worked for a few days then stopped. I followed this pattern for four months
going from
2.5->5->7.5->10->15->20->25->30
Each time getting the full wrath of Lexapro side effects.Now, at 30 I am feeling
OK (crossing my fingers).

People say "I refuse to go up in dose". Why not? If you are always feeling
crappy it is worth the risk. My pdoc says that if 30 won't continue to work she
will not increase my dose. We'll have to try somthing else. But for now, I'm OK

I also take 4mg of perphenazine at night (for anxiety) and 50mg of Trazadone to
sleep. Also 2mg of Ativan. I'm hoping to eliminate the night time drugs over
time (man am I screwed up!).

"2.5->5->7.5->10->15->20->25->30

>>>>>>tiredman, did you get pretty bad "jitters"/physical nervousness each time you raised the dose? I have...and each time I increase the dose, these jitters last for quite some time (weeks) before they get better...and this happens to me every time I increase the dose. Sound familiar to you or do you get different side effects? thnx
