... and this time, I'm asking for samples if my doc has any.
I haven't tried the SSRIs since last April, after seeing a pdoc who gave me Klonopin + Nadolol (Inderal LA) + Desoxyn.
But after the first 3 months, as we all know, it's helpful, but not as helpful as it was back during prn dosing.
So I'd like to augment things with Zoloft... since I saw a specialist for soc. anx. disorder for a consult (he was too booked for treating me) and my older doc never followed through with his advice of trying Zoloft+Antipsychotic+Klonopin daily.
So I'd like to augment the Zoloft with my Klonopin, so um, anyone have experience with this? And do SSRIs help to boost the effect of benzos somewhat? I tried Effexor at 400mg for months, Celexa at 20mg for months, Neurontin made me retarded, Wellbutrin gave me a headache with the Adderall, and Paxil I tried for a few days but it gave me insomnia.
So, Zoloft... will this do more than make my doc feel less like I'm a drug-seeking patient? Because I'm asking for it anyway to my upcoming p-doc appt., because I got sick of my recently new p-doc I just dumped because he kept asking me at the end of the appt.,
"So, are there any other prescriptions you need?" (p-doc code for, "are you anxious to drug-seek with me?" After the third appt., I realized I didn't want to be treated this way.

Just one comment. If Paxil gave you insomnia, from what I have read, Zoloft will likely be just as bad--if not worse--in that area.
I too suffer from SAD, and am trying to get a handle on it.
I tried Neurontin -- it did nothing for me.
I tried Lexapro -- it make me WAY TOO SEDATED.
I am taking Klonopin -- I like it, but it makes me a bit depressed (a problem I don't usually have) and a little anti-social as well). Xanax, on the other hand, makes me much happier and social. Go figure
Currently I am taking Paxil CR, and have been on it for about 2 weeks now (at 50mgs/day). I'm hoping this really helps me.
I haven't tried Nardil -- I'm a bit scared of it, so I am going to give the SSRI a fair shot before considering it.
Good luck Utopizen!

Of all the SSRI drugs, I actually found Zoloft to work the best for my anxiety. It helped me sleep too. Unfortunately I had cognitive (memory) side-effects with it and that ended up being an unacceptable trade-off. I don't think the memory impairment is a very common side-effect though, because I haven't seen anyone else report it on this board. It's definitely worth a try.
Best of luck.
