Hi. Anyone found increased heart rate with either of these?
I've been sporadically taking 5-10 mg selegiline and am looking into memantine. I'm considering trying memantine without selegiline.
Based on anyone's experience, would it make any sense to try the two together? I find the selegiline can make me jittery (no surprise there). Would memantine also cause jitteriness? I would like to be alert but also calm.
Thanks muchly,
Emme

I think the main reason to try this combo is anti-poopout. From my experience I would say memantine is not very good for increased concentration, however it might even out selegilines effects and keep guard against poopout. My limited experience with this combo is below.
I have been on liquid selegiline for about 3 weeks now and added in memantine two days ago. The memantine is for anti-poopout effect. Hopefully the selegiline/memantine combo will not poop out like with ritalin and adderal.Yesterday I took only 2.5 m (one fourth of a pill) of memantine and 4 hours later when I was swimming laps I got the worst headache ever! I felt like my temple area was going to explode. Also after my swim I took a shower and got really spaced out and confused. Is this a common side-effect? Does memantine have a bad effects on attention and focus. Its seems as if the memantine has taken away some of good effects of the selegiline ie focused/attention. I am a little scared now of increasing the dose. Would 2.5 be sufficient for anti-poopout. Also is it true that memantine has a half life of 75-100 hours almost like prozac?
Any one else have experience with memantine and selegiline or stimulants? I'd be really interested to hear other experiences.

A few years back I tried this as an "anti-agingŁ thing, to improve memory that had been zonked by a breakdown and too much thorazine. Well, the dopamine seemed to work magic. I took low dose (no more than 15 mg.) and it brightened my mood and cognitive processes. Unfortunately, it did poop out after about 2 years. I keep some on hand as a kind of Viagra for those rare times that I am too depressed to feel like bonding. It works for me. It also makes my heart race. Normally about 70-80, high 90s with Seleg.
I thought it was going to be my wonderdrug. But for the period of time it worked, it caused a sense of happiness and focus. Which I miss dreadfully.
