Hello :
This is my first posting.
Here is my situation. I am on Lexapro 10mg and Geodon 60mg. When I take the two in combo, it will take only 10 minutes for me to get sooo tired that I basically pass out. I have cut Geodon out of my intake and now I am on Lexapro, but still get drowsy.
Has anyone experienced this before?
What have you been doing to minimize the drowsiness?
P.S. I stopped taking the lexapro for a day and I dont get that tired, but I still feel I need medication in my life.
Thanks,

Also to this post, I notice my heart beat is very irregular, it beats faster and slower during the day....very nerve-racking. I am on toprol to calm it, but it does not seem to be helping...any suggestions of what meds can help?
thanks

I've definately experienced some drowsiness on lexapro. My third week on it I just wanted to sleep all the time, but this went away around the middle of the fourth week. (I've been on 10 mg lex for about 33 days now.)
Also, some other people have reported irregular heartbeats for the first week or so that they're on lex. You might want to call your pdoc to get his/her input on the situation. My guess is that both the drowsiness and heartbeat are side effects that will go away soon. I hope this is the case.

The only problem is that I have been on Geodon and Lexapro for over a year, and have been drowsy for over a year...not knowing what was doing it....my heart has been irregular for the past month....any help?

Being drowsy could indicate a Thyroid problem. You might discuss it with your doc. The irregular heart beat could just be a reaction to switching the meds, but again, it's something your doc would probably want to be aware of. (Especially since it's continued for so long.)
If you do talk to your doc, I'd be interested to know what he/she says. I hope you feel better soon! Feeling out of sorts can be really disconcerting and I wish you well.
